Kusadasi originally started off as small fishing village that has grown and
developed into one of Turkey’s cosmopolitan towns.
Kusadasi is situated on the west coast of Turkey 90kms
south of Izmir and offers breathtaking views of the
crystal clear Aegean Sea and the Greek island of Samos.
The name comes from 'kus' (bird) and 'ada' (island),
apparently named after a small island that has a rock
with the shape of a bird's head (as seen from the sea)
just out from the old harbour..
The most popular excursions are to the magnificent
ancient ruins of Ephesus, which is one of the Seven
Wonders of the Ancient World. There are also daily ferry
services to the Greek island of Samos in the peak seasonas
well as several aqua parks to keep the children and
grand children entertained.
Diving? Watersports? Walking? Shopping? Eating out?
Paragliding? You can do all of this in Kusadasi, and
being Turkey you will spend a lot less doing it.
Kusadasi, with its population of approx 50000 has developed
into a town, which has become a second home for many
Europeans and Turkish alike. The demand for villas and
apartments has almost doubled over the last few years.
It’s many beautiful beaches and warm clear Aegean
waters can be enjoyed practically all year round
Ephesus, the commercial centre of the ancient world,
is located just 15mins away from Kusadasi town centre
and is not to be missed. This ancient city dates back
to third century BC and was dedicated to the goddess
Artemis. This enormous temple is one of the Seven Wonders
of the Ancient World.
